the used 3090 value math stopped working for me, ran the numbers

seeing the 3090 thread and i keep coming to the same place. bought mine used at $720 back in late 2024, today theyre still $650-700 which everyone SWORE would crater. it didnt. meanwhile the thing pulls 350W flat out and my idle-to-load delta on the wall meter is real money in summer. for 8b-13b a 3060 12gb at half the price runs cooler and you lose maybe 20% tok/s. the 24gb only earns its keep the day you actually load a 30b+ at a quant you can stand. anyone got a rig where the 3090 genuinely paid off vs just felt cool to own
