ok so is claude pro worth it if im just using it for school assignments

ok so i keep hitting the limit on free tier and its annoying. but $20/month feels like a lot for a student. do i actually need pro or is there a way to make free tier work better. or should i try chatgpt instead because i heard that has a higher free limit
