fable 5 vs sonnet 5 - wait are these different models
confused.... i thought fable 5 was the new one but now everyone's talking about sonnet 5. are these the same model with different names or did anthropic release two models
fable 5 and sonnet 5 are different models yes. fable 5 is the bigger flagship model (mythos-class) but it got nerfed after relaunch on july 1. sonnet 5 is smaller and became the default model june 30 - most people say it's better than nerfed fable 5 now for most tasks

from what i can tell fable 5 is still better at like really hard reasoning tasks but for normal stuff sonnet 5 is way better because fable refuses to do half of what you ask
